Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The manuscript is original, has not been published previously and is not under consideration by another journal.
The submission fits the GMD aims and scope and states its medical or biomedical research question clearly.
A separate title page and an anonymized manuscript have been prepared for double-blind review.
The appropriate reporting guideline and checklist have been followed, and methods, outcomes and statistical analyses are reported transparently.
Ethics approval, trial registration, informed consent, publication consent, animal welfare and data privacy are addressed where applicable.
Funding, competing interests, author contributions, data availability and material AI-tool use are disclosed.

Author Guidelines

Authors should read the aims and scope before submission. Manuscripts must be original, clearly written and not under review elsewhere.

Article types

Original clinical or biomedical research
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
Translational and laboratory studies
Diagnostic, prognostic and epidemiological studies
Case reports or case series with publication consent
Methods, protocols and short communications

Reporting standards

Use the reporting guideline appropriate to the study, including CONSORT for randomized trials, STROBE for observational research, PRISMA for systematic reviews, STARD for diagnostic accuracy, CARE for case reports, TRIPOD for prediction models and ARRIVE for animal research where applicable. Submit the relevant checklist when requested.

Ethics and consent

Human research must identify the approving ethics committee and approval number where available, and report informed consent or an approved waiver. Clinical trials must be registered prospectively in a recognized public registry. Case reports and identifiable images require specific consent for publication. Animal research must document ethical approval, welfare safeguards and applicable reporting standards.

Methods and evidence

Describe participants, eligibility, interventions, comparators, outcomes, sample-size reasoning, laboratory procedures and statistical methods transparently. Report effect estimates with uncertainty, adverse events, missing data, protocol deviations and limitations. Avoid causal or clinical claims unsupported by the design.

Data and declarations

Include statements on data availability, funding, competing interests, author contributions and material use of generative AI. Protect confidential patient and participant information.

Review files

Provide a separate title page and anonymized manuscript for double-blind review.

Submission status

Online submissions are temporarily closed while GMD completes its editorial setup.

Privacy Statement

Global Medical Discoveries (GMD) respects the privacy of authors, reviewers, editors, readers, research participants, patients and registered users. The journal may collect names, affiliations, contact details, ORCID iDs, account information, submission and review records, correspondence and technical logs needed to operate and secure the journal.

Editorial use and confidentiality

Information is used to manage editorial work, publish accepted articles and metadata, maintain the scholarly record and meet ethical or legal obligations. Access to non-public material is limited to authorized people who require it for journal operations.

Patient and participant information

Authors must remove personal or medical information that is not essential and authorized for publication. Identifiable case details, images, genetic information and clinical records require appropriate consent, ethics oversight and secure handling. Anonymization must be assessed in context because removing names alone may not prevent recognition.

Sharing and retention

GMD does not sell personal information. Limited data may be processed by hosting, DOI, indexing, preservation, email or security services required to run the journal. Editorial records may be retained to document decisions and preserve research integrity.
