Authors should read the aims and scope before submission. Manuscripts must be original, clearly written and not under review elsewhere.
State the research question, setting, population or collection, conceptual framework and contribution. Describe sampling, instruments, systems, datasets, metadata standards, retrieval methods, interfaces and analyses in sufficient detail. Report limitations, accessibility considerations and the organizational or community context.
User studies, surveys, interviews, usability testing, learning analytics and research using identifiable records require appropriate ethics review and informed consent where applicable. Protect patron confidentiality, intellectual freedom, privacy and vulnerable communities. Do not disclose sensitive search, circulation, location or institutional data without lawful authorization.
Include a Data Availability Statement. Deposit anonymized data, instruments, code, metadata schemas, queries, configurations and documentation where lawful and ethical. Identify software versions, standards, repositories, licences and access restrictions.
Provide a separate title page and anonymized manuscript for double-blind review. Disclose funding, competing interests, author contributions and material use of generative AI.
