Research design and evidence
State the political question, theoretical framework, methods, sources and contribution clearly. Describe sampling, measurement, case selection, coding, archival or documentary procedures, and limitations sufficiently for assessment.
Participants, communities and sensitive data
Research involving interviews, surveys, experiments, public officials, vulnerable groups or politically sensitive settings requires appropriate ethics review, consent, privacy protection and risk assessment. Avoid unnecessary identifying details and explain access restrictions.
Data and transparency
Include a Data Availability Statement. Deposit datasets, codebooks, instruments, code and replication materials in a stable repository where lawful and safe. Explain justified legal, ethical, security or confidentiality restrictions.
