Research Ethics, Human Data and Economic Experiments

Research involving people, experiments, surveys, interventions, identifiable records or sensitive administrative microdata requires appropriate ethics review and informed consent or a justified waiver. Authors should report recruitment, incentives, consent, privacy protection and data governance.

Field experiments and policy interventions must describe foreseeable risks, distributional consequences and safeguards. Deception should be exceptional, justified and followed by appropriate debriefing. Authors must not expose confidential information or enable re-identification.
