Physics Research Ethics and Safety

Physics research must be conducted responsibly and in accordance with relevant institutional, facility, safety, environmental, security and legal requirements.

Authors must report applicable approvals for radiation, lasers, high voltage, cryogens, pressure systems, hazardous materials, fieldwork or other significant risks. Research involving people, medical data or interventions requires appropriate ethics review and consent. Dual-use, export-controlled or security-sensitive information must be handled lawfully without concealing information necessary for scientific assessment.
