Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The manuscript is original, has not been published previously and is not under consideration by another journal.
The submission fits the JEA aims and scope and states the biological question and contribution clearly.
A separate title page and an anonymized manuscript have been prepared for double-blind review.
Organisms, materials, controls, replication, methods and statistical analyses are reported sufficiently for assessment.
Ethics approvals, collection permits, biosafety requirements, funding, competing interests, author contributions and AI-tool use are disclosed where applicable.
Data, code, sequences, specimens and biological materials are deposited or made available as required, with accession numbers and lawful restrictions stated.

Author Guidelines

Authors should read the aims and scope before submission. Manuscripts must be original, clearly written and not under review elsewhere.

Educational reporting

State the educational problem, context, theoretical or conceptual framework and contribution. Describe participants, setting, recruitment, sampling, intervention or learning design, instruments, procedures and analysis in sufficient detail. Quantitative studies should report measurement quality, missing data, effect sizes and uncertainty. Qualitative studies should explain researcher position, coding, credibility and interpretation.

Ethics, inclusion and safeguarding

Research involving learners, teachers or other participants requires appropriate ethics review and informed consent or assent. Studies involving children or vulnerable groups must document safeguarding, parental or guardian consent where required, privacy protection and procedures that minimize power-related pressure. Report inclusion, accessibility and relevant contextual limitations.

Data and transparency

Include a Data Availability Statement. Deposit instruments, protocols, code, de-identified data and supporting materials where lawful and ethical. Explain restrictions involving student records, confidential institutional data, copyright or re-identification risk.

Review files

Provide a separate title page and anonymized manuscript for double-blind review. Disclose funding, competing interests, author contributions and material use of generative AI.

Submission status

Online submissions are temporarily closed while JEA completes its editorial setup.

Privacy Statement

Journal of Educational Advancement (JEA) respects the privacy of authors, reviewers, editors, readers, research participants and registered users. The journal may collect names, affiliations, contact details, ORCID iDs, account information, submission and review records, correspondence and technical logs needed to operate and secure the journal.

Use and confidentiality

Information is used to manage editorial work, publish accepted articles and metadata, maintain the scholarly record and meet ethical or legal obligations. Access to non-public material is limited to authorized people who require it for journal operations.

Research information

Authors must remove personal or sensitive information that they are not authorized to publish. Human-participant data, precise locations of threatened species and other restricted biological information must be handled according to consent, ethics, conservation and legal requirements.

Sharing, retention and security

JEA does not sell personal information. Limited data may be processed by hosting, DOI, indexing, preservation, email or security services required to run the journal. Editorial records may be retained to document decisions and preserve research integrity. Privacy questions should be sent to the official contact address.
