Research Ethics, Organizations and Participants

Research involving employees, managers, customers, communities, interventions, surveys, interviews, observation or identifiable organizational records requires appropriate ethics review and informed consent or a justified waiver where applicable.

Authors must minimize risks of identification, retaliation, discrimination, reputational damage or commercial harm. Recruitment through workplace hierarchies requires particular attention to voluntariness and power differences. Publicly accessible professional information is not automatically exempt from ethical consideration.
