Data and Code Availability

Every research article should include a Data Availability Statement identifying the data, code and materials needed to understand and assess the results.

Sequence, structure, expression and other community-standard datasets should be deposited in an appropriate repository before publication, with accession numbers supplied. Other data and code should use a stable repository when practical.

Restrictions based on participant privacy, conservation, biosecurity, material-transfer agreements or law must be explained. Editors or reviewers may request underlying data for confidential assessment.
