About the Journal

Shodh Historical Perspectives Journal (HPJ) is a quarterly, online-only, peer-reviewed journal for rigorous research on past societies, institutions, cultures, ideas and lived experience.

HPJ publishes original research articles, historiographical and review essays, archival and documentary studies, oral-history and memory studies, digital-history and historical-data papers, research notes, source notes and short communications.

Manuscripts should present a clear historical question, work critically with primary sources, document provenance and archival references accurately, engage relevant historiography, acknowledge uncertainty and silences in the record, and explain the wider significance of the interpretation. Articles are freely available under CC BY 4.0, with no submission fee or article processing charge.

HPJ is published by Shodh Publishing.
