Research involving artists, sitters, participants, interviews, workshops, communities or culturally restricted knowledge requires appropriate ethics review and informed consent where applicable.

Authors must respect privacy, attribution, cultural ownership, custodial responsibilities and restrictions on photographing, reproducing, locating or circulating sensitive works. Public display does not remove every ethical obligation.
