Plant Material, Vouchers and Nomenclature

Authors must identify plant material accurately and have the right to collect, transfer, study and publish information about it.

Specimens and cultures

Give scientific names, authorship, family, collection locality, collector and number, voucher repository and accession where relevant. Cultures, seeds and living collections should include source and repository details.

Nomenclature and types

New names and typifications must follow the current International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants. Type information, registration where required and a clear diagnosis must be supplied.

Images and locality data

Captions should identify the specimen or taxon, scale and image source. Adjustments must not obscure diagnostic features. Precise locations of threatened or commercially sensitive taxa may be withheld with an explanation.
