AI Use and Disclosure

Generative AI and automated tools cannot be listed as authors or creative contributors because they cannot approve a manuscript or accept responsibility for it.

Authors must disclose material use of such tools in drafting, translation, analysis, coding, sound, image, video or other media preparation. The disclosure should identify the tool, purpose and extent of use. Routine spelling or reference-formatting assistance need not be reported.

Authors remain responsible for accuracy, originality, confidentiality, permissions, cultural sensitivity and possible bias. Synthetic media must be labelled clearly and must not be presented as documentary evidence or another creator's work.
