Authors must retain the records needed to support their methods, interpretations and conclusions and provide a Research Materials or Data Availability Statement.
Relevant material may include field notes, interview guides, transcripts, catalogues, archival references, images, recordings, scores, scripts, code, protocols and documentation of creative practice. Repository deposits should include a persistent link or identifier when available.
Privacy, cultural sensitivity, copyright, performer rights, archive rules and contractual obligations may limit public sharing. The statement must explain the restriction and any lawful controlled-access route.
Sources, media and research records must not be fabricated, selectively omitted or altered in a misleading way. Editors may request supporting records during review or after publication. Inability to support material claims may lead to rejection or post-publication action.
