About the Journal

Contemporary Photography Review (CPR) is a quarterly, online-only, peer-reviewed journal for research and critical inquiry across photographic practice, history, theory, technology and visual culture.

CPR publishes original research articles, critical and historical studies, practice-led and visual-research papers, documentary and community-based studies, technical and archival research, review essays, interviews, case studies and short communications.

Manuscripts should frame a clear question, document photographic methods and sources carefully, identify images and rights accurately, explain editorial or technical intervention, address the ethics of representation, and show why the contribution matters beyond a single project or exhibition. Articles are freely available under CC BY 4.0, with no submission fee or article processing charge.

CPR is published by Shodh Publishing.
