Authors retain copyright in articles published by GAR.

Licence

Unless an article states otherwise for a lawful reason, GAR publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).

CC BY 4.0 permits reading, downloading, copying, sharing, adapting and commercial or non-commercial reuse, provided the original authors and source are credited, a link to the licence is supplied and changes are indicated.

Publishing permission

By submitting an accepted article for publication, authors grant GAR the non-exclusive permission needed to publish, identify, distribute, archive and preserve the version of record. Authors remain free to reuse and deposit their work subject to the licence and any rights held in third-party material.

Third-party material

Authors must obtain permission for material that is not owned by them or covered by the article licence. A credit line must state any different copyright or reuse conditions.

No conflicting rights statement

A restrictive rights notice must not be applied to a CC BY 4.0 article in a way that limits rights granted by the licence.
