INAUGURAL VOLUME
Authors, reviewers and editors must disclose an interest that could influence—or reasonably appear to influence—the conduct, assessment or reporting of a manuscript.
Relevant interests may include funding, employment, consultancy, excavation or development contracts, ownership or custody of collections, museum relationships, involvement in the antiquities market, legal disputes, and close personal or professional connections.
A reviewer should decline when a conflict prevents impartial assessment. An editor must not handle a paper involving their own project, institution, collection or recent collaborator. Failure to disclose a material interest may lead to reassignment, rejection or a notice on a published article.
