Plagiarism and Originality

Submissions must be original and acknowledge earlier scholarship. Text, ideas, data, photographs, drawings, plans, maps, catalogue descriptions and analytical results taken from another source must be cited and, where necessary, used with permission.

The editorial office may use similarity-detection software. A similarity score is not a decision; an editor examines the source, extent and context of the matching material.

Substantial unattributed copying, duplicate publication, fabricated citations or undisclosed reuse may lead to rejection. A serious problem found after publication may require a correction, expression of concern or retraction after the authors have been given an opportunity to respond.
