• Genre studies, poetics and narrative theory
• Textual scholarship, bibliography and book history
• Archives, manuscripts and material cultures of reading
• Literature and the arts, media, philosophy, environment or society
• Digital humanities, computational criticism and literary corpora
• Pedagogical scholarship with a substantial literary research contribution

Plot summary, impressionistic appreciation and descriptive surveys without a sustained argument or adequate engagement with scholarship are outside scope.
