Authors remain responsible for every part of a submitted manuscript, including material produced or revised with artificial-intelligence tools.
Authors must disclose material use of generative AI in drafting text, creating or modifying images, generating code, analysing data, translating content or developing research materials. The disclosure should identify the tool, version when known, purpose and the parts of the work affected. Routine spelling, grammar and reference-formatting assistance does not require disclosure.
AI must not be listed as an author. Authors must not use AI to fabricate or manipulate data, images, citations, approvals or results. AI-generated citations must be checked against the original sources. Undisclosed synthetic or manipulated research content may be treated as misconduct.
Editors and reviewers must not upload a confidential manuscript, review or author information to an external AI service unless JASF has explicitly approved a secure use and the necessary confidentiality and data-protection conditions are satisfied.
Use of AI is not by itself a reason for rejection. JASF evaluates whether the use was transparent, lawful, scientifically appropriate and subject to accountable human verification.
