The corresponding author may ask to withdraw a manuscript by writing to the editorial office, explaining the reason and confirming that all authors agree. A submission may also be withdrawn by the journal when authorship cannot be verified, the work is submitted elsewhere at the same time, or a serious ethical or legal problem prevents further consideration.
A published article will be corrected when an error affects part of the record but does not invalidate the main findings. Retraction may be considered when the findings are unreliable, the work involves serious misconduct, required approval was absent, peer review was manipulated, or publication infringes a legal right.
Before deciding, JASF will review the available evidence and give the authors a reasonable opportunity to respond. A retraction notice will identify the article and explain the reason. The article will normally remain online, clearly marked, to preserve the publication history.
