Plagiarism and Originality

Submissions must be original and must acknowledge wording, ideas, figures, catalogues, observations, code and results derived from earlier work.

ASAS may use similarity checking and editorial assessment. Similarity is interpreted in context: properly cited methods or standard terminology differ from unattributed copying, disguised paraphrase, duplicate publication or recycled results presented as new.

Authors must cite their own related work and explain overlap, including conference papers and preprints. Serious concerns may result in rejection, correction or retraction.
