Plagiarism and Originality

Submissions must be original and must acknowledge ideas, wording, translations, images, sounds, performances, designs, data and other work derived from earlier sources.

MPAR may use similarity checking and editorial assessment. Similarity is interpreted in context: cited quotation, artistic reference and documented appropriation differ from unattributed copying, disguised paraphrase, duplicate publication or misrepresentation of another person's creative contribution.

Authors must cite their own related work and explain overlap. Serious concerns may result in rejection, correction or retraction and, where appropriate, communication with an institution or rights holder.
