Music and Performing Arts Review (MPAR) is an English-language, quarterly, peer-reviewed, open-access journal for research and critical inquiry across music, theatre, dance, performance and related creative practices.
MPAR welcomes historically grounded, theoretically informed, ethnographic, analytical and practice-based work on performance, composition, interpretation, production, pedagogy, technology, communities and cultural contexts.

Music and Performing Arts Review (MPAR) is a quarterly, online-only, peer-reviewed journal for research and critical inquiry across music, theatre, dance, performance and related creative practices.
MPAR publishes original research articles, reviews, theory and criticism, practice-research papers, performance studies, ethnographic and historical work, archival studies, critical essays, case studies, interviews, research notes and short communications.
Manuscripts should define their scholarly or creative question clearly, document methods and sources transparently, situate performances and practices responsibly, and explain the contribution beyond an individual work or event. Articles are freely available under CC BY 4.0, with no submission fee or article processing charge.
