Plagiarism and Originality

Submissions must be original and must acknowledge ideas, wording, drawings, photographs, maps, data, designs and other work derived from earlier sources.

GJAI may use similarity checking and editorial assessment. Similarity is interpreted in context: standard technical phrases and cited descriptions differ from unattributed copying, disguised paraphrase, duplicate publication or appropriation of another person's design or research.

Authors must cite their own related work and explain overlap. Serious concerns may result in rejection, correction or retraction and, where appropriate, communication with an institution or rights holder.
