Project Documentation, Images and Permissions

Authors must have the right to submit and publish all project material included in a manuscript.

Project identification

Where applicable, state project name, location, date, status, scale, programme, design team, consultants, client or owner and the author's role. Do not imply that an unbuilt proposal is completed work.

Drawings and photographs

Credit the designer, drafter, photographer, archive or other source. Obtain permission for third-party drawings, photographs, renders, maps and confidential documents unless publication is otherwise permitted by law or licence.

Confidential and sensitive material

Do not submit client-confidential, security-sensitive or personally identifying information without authorization. Editors may request evidence of permission and may require redaction.

Image integrity

Adjustments must not misrepresent the project, context or measured condition. Composite, reconstructed or AI-generated images must be labelled clearly.
