Digital Preservation and Backups

Global Agricultural Innovations (GAI) is committed to preserving the accessibility, integrity and usability of its published scholarly content for the long term. The journal treats published articles, corrections, retractions and associated metadata as part of the permanent scholarly record.

Digital Preservation Commitment

GAI will maintain preservation procedures appropriate to an online journal and will review them as the journal develops. Preservation arrangements will be described accurately; GAI will not claim participation in an external archive until that service has been activated and verified.

PKP Preservation Network (PKP-PN)

Because GAI operates on Open Journal Systems, the journal intends to use the PKP Preservation Network where the journal is eligible and the service is enabled. Participation status will be stated on this page after activation.

Institutional and Repository Archiving

Authors may deposit the published version of their articles in institutional or subject repositories, personal academic websites and other lawful scholarly services, with a complete citation and link to the version of record.

Local Backup and Data Security

The publisher will maintain scheduled backups of the OJS database, uploaded article files, issue files, configuration and essential metadata. Backup copies should be stored separately from the primary server and periodically tested for restoration.

Permanent Article Availability

Published material will ordinarily remain available permanently. Content will not be silently removed. When a correction, expression of concern or retraction is necessary, the notice will remain linked to the article and the publication history will be retained.

Metadata Preservation

GAI preserves bibliographic metadata including titles, author details, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, citations, dates, volume and issue information and persistent identifiers where assigned.

Retractions and Corrections

Corrections and retractions will follow GAI policy. The original record will be clearly marked and linked to the relevant notice so that readers can understand what changed and why.

Long-Term Accessibility

If the journal website is moved or the publishing platform changes, reasonable steps will be taken to migrate content and metadata and maintain working links.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed when preservation services, hosting arrangements or recognized publishing standards change.
