INAUGURAL VOLUME
Research involving people may arise in agricultural practice, One Health, public health, occupational studies, surveys or clinical reporting. Such work must protect participants' rights, safety and privacy.
Authors must state the name of the approving ethics committee or institutional review board and provide the approval identifier when available. Research participants, or an authorized representative where appropriate, must provide informed consent unless a competent ethics body has approved a lawful waiver.
Names, images, pedigrees, case details or other identifying information must not be published unless scientifically necessary and supported by specific informed consent for publication. Removing a name may not be sufficient when a person can still be recognized from the circumstances.
A prospective human clinical trial must be registered in a recognized public registry at or before enrolment of the first participant. The registration number must be reported in the manuscript. Late registration must be explained and does not guarantee consideration.
GAI may request ethics approval, consent forms, registry information or de-identification details. The journal may reject or correct work that does not provide adequate protection or documentation.
