INAUGURAL VOLUME
Global Agricultural Innovations (GAI) requires disclosure and responsible management of interests that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, research, review or editorial decisions. A disclosure does not automatically imply wrongdoing.
Authors must disclose relevant financial, institutional, professional and personal relationships. Examples include funding, employment, consultancy, honoraria, advisory roles, patents, stock ownership, provision of seeds, biological materials, equipment or products and relationships that could affect interpretation.
Every manuscript must include a conflict-of-interest statement. Where none exist, authors may state: The authors declare no competing interests relevant to this work.
Reviewers must decline or seek guidance when recent collaboration, institutional relationships, direct competition, personal relationships, financial interests or other circumstances could prevent an impartial review.
Editors must recuse themselves from manuscripts in which they have a conflict. Another qualified editor will manage the submission and decision independently.
Board membership does not provide preferential treatment. Submissions from editors or board members will follow the same standards and will be handled without their involvement.
The editorial office may request additional information and may publish relevant disclosures with the article. Funding sources and the funder role in study design, analysis, reporting or publication decisions must be described.
Material nondisclosure may lead to reassignment of reviewers or editors, rejection, a published correction, an expression of concern or retraction, depending on its effect on the integrity of the record.
Decisions will be based on academic merit, ethical compliance and relevance—not on commercial relationships or personal influence.
This policy will be reviewed periodically in light of recognized scholarly publishing and agricultural research standards.
